This question is always on my mind. Why do some internet marketers make millions, while the others share $10 among them all? What do those successful people have/do/know, that others don’t?
Why did Dan make $15,000 in just one month, while most of us struggle to make $10 in the same period of time? And even if he documented all the steps that he took in detail on his 15kChallenge blog, no-one could duplicate the result?
And don’t say that the difference is experience — it’s too obvious. And would that mean, that you have to fail for some time in order to succeed and start earning money?
Let’s imagine, that my BFF is John Reese, or well known Ed Dale, or Dan Reine, or any other well known internet marketer. And let’s say that I ask them to show me, how do they earn money online.
So he sits down to his computer and I sit next to him with mine. He starts working and I duplicate (plagiarize) every single step he takes. What would be the outcome? How much would I earn? Would it be the same amount, less or none?
Logically thinking it would be about the same amount of money, because we did everything the same, right?
But now let’s go back to the real world, where the only way, for the most of us, that we can sit next to our mentor is audio programs/books/challenges/videos and like we all know most people fail with these mediums?
Is it because they are lazy and don’t follow through? This question buggled my mind all day long…

In the immortal words of The Fun Boy Three and Bananarama, “It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it, and that’s what gets results.”
You need to know what buttons to press that will make the reader buy the product. And that takes practice.
I guess we should change question from “What do they do differently?” to “What actions must I take, what should I improve to get better results constantly?”.
There’s probably no point to bother yourself with the question, that has no answer…
Adomas, this post inspired me to knock up a list of 5 attributes I think you need to have to be a successful affiliate. Let me know your thoughts
All the best,
Mike
I don’t know about you, but I have to believe the reason we fail with audio books, seminars and the like is that they don’t tell ALL the steps necessary. If it was you would you sell your secret to making money? Knowing that on the internet anything that everyone starts doing stops working? Somehow I don’t think so.
That being said I also believe that most people who start out online trying to make money do not work as hard as the pro’s do. That’s one of the things that make people professionals in any field. Yes you need talent and knowledge, but I think that hard work and perseverance is much more important. Just my two cents….
What’s BFF?
You’d get the same results (considering the same traffic sources etc). There are no real secrets they hold. They are capitalizing on the fact that you aren’t “up there with them” and try to sell you on the fact that they hold some secret key that you don’t. There isn’t such a thing. They just go out and do shit.
The main thing most people don’t want to admit is that they lack self-discipline and just sit on their butts pretending to be doing something. It’s so easy to blame others or keep on looking for that secret sauce that will make you rich overnig. Most often people blog, read even more books, post in forums and all that stuff when they should be writing content/salesletters, getting JVs and that kind of deal.
One of the reasons why that happens is that you might not have identified what you actually want. Unless it’s written down in detail, you don’t know what you want.
Then, there is being busy vs productive.
And, probably most important, is that you have to have a plan with specific steps to take that lead to the final goal (got one? (refer to 4HWW dreamlining exercise)). When you have a plan, you know what you have to do next as opposed to some concept that’s floating in your head.
Good luck.
I’m sorry, but the first part of your comment is bullshit. What do you think would happen if John Reese came out with his complete strategies? He has thought out things YEARS into the future about the markets he is in. He knows what he will be launching/doing in 2 years. Do you? Do you think his plan is more than 10 steps? Most people would just look at his long ass plan and think “too complicated, I’d rather go bitch in the forums how complicated it is to make money online.”
Now here’s an interesting question. Out of all books/audios/videos that you’ve gone through… how many strategies have you tried as-is? To the completion?
As a rule of thumb, people who have excuses, don’t have much money.
Sure, tactics come and go. Laws change, SEO things get labeled black hat and so on. But there are things that will work a long long time. Like building a relationship with your list. Or building natural websites (silo structured) that will rank.
Have fun.
