I’m new to the internet game and am getting lost in the Guru jungle.Could you please recommend the best of the best for someone interested in doing what you are embarking on. Which programs do you suggest.
By the way. Outstanding job and I wish you much success.
Lenny
Thanks for the message, Lenny, I really appreciate it.
Although I must say, that I am new to this too, but I’ve few things that I always recommend for everyone that asks me for an advice.
First of all, read “4 Hours Work Week” by Tim Ferris. This book will show you the new possibilities and expand your mindset. So that you know exactly what you are working for and why you need money to live life of comfort and freedom.
Next, after reading the above, go straight away and read Dan Penna’s “Your First 100 Million.”
This is a totally different book from the one mentioned above and I can guarantee you it will make you furious (at least it did me and few of my friends who read it) but that’s totally OK. It should. It’s everything what Tim Ferris told not to do, but you have to see both sides of the coin and plus, this book will make your ass move and that’s what really matters.
After this, read Duncan Bannatyne’s book “Anyone Can Do It.” This will be the last thing that you will need — a real rag to riches story.
Do this in a sequence that I did, because I think this is optimal and will take you from one extreme in your head to the other and finally balancing in the middle, where you think you want to be.
Read those books one at a time — from start to finish. Do not skip pages. Start exercising your diligence.
Then, carve one Napoleon Hill’s quote into your brain’s membrane: “A Double Minded Man is Unstable in All Of His Ways.”
So find what you want to do and stick to it.
If it’s internet marketing, what will the sub-niche of it you would like to pursue?
Membership Sites, Adwords, SEO, Copywriting, Bum Marketing, Affiliate Marketing etc. etc. there are many things that you might like.
Choose one and eliminate your other choices. DO NOT MULTITASK! DO NOT start one thing and without finishing it move to the other.
I did that, I did not get ANY results by doing that…
I have friends who still do that and it’s painful to see them being so ignorant like I was not so long ago.
Finally have an open mind.
Don’t be a skeptic! I might even say — be naïve!
If someone says that he made a couple of thousands by doing that — then believe them and try it for yourself. Don’t discard new ideas without even trying them. Test them, see the results, try them one more time and only after that, judging by the results that you’ve got, discard or adopt them.
This will keep your eyes open for new opportunities. Skeptics finish last, that’s what I think about those who say, “This will never work!” or “This testimonial is fake. It’s impossible to make money that fast!” I say Fuck skeptics!
I liked what Eban Pagan once said: Do you know what’s the difference between good salesmen and great ones? It’s the speed of implementation. Great salesmen practically adopt everything that they’ve learned immediately after they hear that information. That’s what makes them so great.
I guess that’s all that I can suggest you by the time I’m writing you this. Maybe in the future my views will change (and I think they certainly will) but for now, after long months of doing nothing, these few books and some simple mind shifts moved me to taking the amounts of action that I’ve never did before.
I hope that this will help you at least to get started.
Good luck and take care.
PS. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
I have a theory why Geeky guys do quite bad in business — they are “too smart” to ask for advice of people who have already done that. They think that they are know-it-all’s and don’t need someone to tell them what to do. It’s pretty much impossible to help such people.
But the fact also is that they are afraid to take any kind of action for whatever reason that might be…
You won’t believe what people I’ve contacted and just asked for advice. Almost all of them answered with a detailed plan. Some of them didn’t, but that’s also natural, I too don’t answer to every email that I get, there’s simply not enough time.
So ask people for a help and they certainly will.
