If you did that… that would guarantee your website ending up in supplemental index or getting deindexed very fast (assuming the directories approve you). 10-20 submissions per day sounds more reasonable and would spread your backlinks.
If I remember right, SEO Elite (when they first launched) was deindexed because they built up links so fast it was considered spam. You don’t want that.
I assume whether you’d be OK or not depends whether trusted sites link to you or not (like yahoo directory or DMOZ), but that’s just speculation.
Believe me or not, but I did that. :/ I’m not sure if all those articles will be approved, but some already are.
We will see what will happen and I really, really hope that you are wrong… :/

After running an article directory that I had to manually add articles to since 1998, I’ve started one that allows users to post their own articles. This is TONS easier now, and I’ll be applying all of the same SEO techniques to this one that I did to the previous site: <a href=”http://www.ConsultingMentor.com” rel=”nofollow”>Consulting Mentor</a>, so I’m fairly sure it will shoot up in the rankings. Unlike other article directories, too, I’m allowing Adsense sharing. I imagine this will be a strong motivator for authors to post their articles on the directory and get it taking off like gangbusters.
